Dear Ambassador,

We would like to inform you that, the Chief Executive Officer of the TV2 channel has received Your Excellency’s letter in respect of the news that appeared on the TV2.

With regards to the fact, that the Chief Executive Officer is currently on holiday, and Your Excellency has requested for immediate response, please allow me to reply as follows:

The TV2 channel has verified the information and ascertained that it was indeed a mistake that happened. While expressing our regret, we wish to assure Your Excellency that the television did not have any intention to negatively potray the Nigerian citizens as such.

The channel wishes to confirm that the appeared news, according to which, the Hungarian authorities suspect that the crime in question was committed by Nigerian citizens, is false.

In the light of the above, we will correct the information today, on our program titled “Tények” (Facts).

We apologize once again for the mistake.
