AMBASSADOR CHIEF EDDY ONUOHA PRESENTS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO PRESIDENT OF HUNGARY, H.E. JÁNOS ÁDER ON 26TH OCTOBER, 2012 

            The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Hungary, His Excellency Chief Eddy Onuoha presented his Letters of Credence to the Hungarian President H.E. János Áder at the Sándor Palace, the official residence of the President of Hungary, on Friday, 26th October, 2012.

            Ambassador Onuoha was escorted from the Residence to the Sándor Palace by the Head of Diplomatic Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ferenc Szabó and was accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs. Ngozi Onuoha and three Officials of the Embassy of Nigeria. Upon his arrival at the Sándor Palace, the Ambassador was met by the Commander of the Garrison, where military honours were then rendered to the Ambassador by the Guard of Honour.

Importantly, Ambassador Onuoha presented his Letter of Credence and Letter of Recall of his predecessor to the Hungarian President, and also introduced members of his entourage. The Hungarian President then invited the Ambassador to his office for private discussions and thereafter, Ambassador Onuoha signed the Guest Book at the Sandor Palace. After the discussions, the Ambassador and his entourage were escorted by the Head of Diplomatic Protocol to the Heroes Square where the Ambassador laid a wreath at the Monument of Hungarian Heroes.

After the presentation, the Ambassador hosted the Nigerian Community where he spoke about President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda and emphasized the need for collaboration between the Embassy and Nigerians living in Hungary. There was also a dinner reception held later in the evening for members of the Diplomatic Corp which was well attended.

            Ambassador Chief Eddy Onuoha was educated at Watford College Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom and he is a member of several Federal Government Committees and many organizations in Nigeria.
