NOTICE ON THE NEED TO COMPLY WITH PROCEDURES FOR CONSULAR SERVICES

 

In order to avoid long service durations due to partial or non-compliance with procedures for consular services, the Embassy of Nigeria wishes to invite the attention of all categories of Nigerians and the general public in Hungary, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the requirements of the following consular services:

 

LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS

MARRIAGE CLEARANCE

ATTESTATION LETTER FOR BABY NAME

CERTIFICATION OF TRUE COPY OF DOCUMENT

Payments for consular services are made in two ways, after which a revenue receipt is issued at the Embassy upon confirmation of payment:

       Deposit relevant consular fee by visiting any MKB Bank. The applicant submits the deposit slip from MKB Bank as evidence of payment.

       Transfer relevant consular fee via online banking, and submit copy of e-receipt. The Finance Attaché confirms receipt of funds.

Please note the following when paying the consular fee:

  • A commission/transfer fee will be charged by the Bank when depositing or transferring the consular fee. Please ensure the total amount on the MKB deposit slip has the exact amount of the consular service needed.
  • All consular fees paid via bank transfer can only be acknowledged after the Finance Section has confirmed receipt of the transfer. 
  • Provide payment details when making payment. Include the type of consular service you are paying and this appears in the remark column of the deposit slip.
  • Submit the original MKB Bank slip or evidence of  the bank transfer when submitting your documents.
Consular days and hours are from Tuesday to Thursday; 10am-2pm. However, it is advised that applicants send their documents electronically or via courier service, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols. The Embassy will always aim to process all appropriate consular requests within 1-2 business days.

The above notice takes effect from 1st September 2021.
